In this capacity, we provide service and collect information on behalf of the hospital.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.criticall.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Statements-of-Purpose-for-CritiCall-Ontario-Case-Record-Data-Holdings-Sept-2_16.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CritiCall Ontario Case Record Data Holding and Statement of Purpose<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Repatriation Tool (a component of the Provincial Hospital Resource System)<\/strong> &#8211; For the purposes of the Repatriation Tool within the Provincial Hospital Resource System, CritiCall Ontario acts as a \u201cHealth Information Network Provider.\u201d The Repatriation Tool enables hospitals to collect, use, modify, disclose and retain personal health information and other information necessary for the purpose of transferring patients from highly specialized acute care hospitals to other acute care hospitals for the remainder of their care.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.criticall.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Statements-of-Purpose-for-CritiCall-Ontario-PHRS-Repat-Tool-Data-Holdings-Sept-2_16.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Repatriation Tool Data Holding and Statement of Purpose<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Critical Care Information System &#8211;<\/strong> For the purposes of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.criticall.org\/our-systems-data\/critical-care-information-system\/\"> Critical Care Information System (CCIS)<\/a>, CritiCall Ontario acts on behalf of Ornge, the \u201cPrescribed Person\u201d in relation to the CCIS. In this capacity, CritiCall Ontario must fulfill the requirements of a \u2018Prescribed Person\u2019 under the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and its regulation which includes having its information management practices reviewed and approved by the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (IPC) every three years. Ornge\/CritiCall Ontario\u2019s practices and procedures, in respect of the CCIS received IPC approval on October 31, 2023, for a further three years. Documentation from this review <strong>and all subsequent reviews<\/strong> are publicly available on the website of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipc.on.ca\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IPC<\/a>.
